IAA YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD 2023

Applications are to be invited for the IAA Young Researcher Award from life members of the Association by the General Secretary during the month of June every year. The age of the applicant should not be more than 35 years as of 1st July following the date of notification. In support of the application, the applicant shall be required to submit through online his/her five research publications in peer-reviewed Journals as a Single / First Author which should be in accounting and related areas and must have been published during the last five years from the date of the notification.

Application for the award should contains two parts:

Part A :

  1. Request letter for consideration for the award
  2. Recent passport size photograph of applicant
  3. Declaration about originality of research work

Part B :
The following two sets of scanned research papers are to be submitted through online in PDF format:

  • One set of scanned PDF copies of five research papers in accounting and related areas (Scanned copies of each paper separately, thus making five PDF files) with a display of the author’s name.
  • Another set of scanned PDF copies of these five research papers in accounting and related areas (individual scanned copies of each paper separately, thus making five PDF files) with no indication of author(s) name(s) anywhere.

Evaluation Criteria:
  • The research papers shall be evaluated by two experts confidentially. In consultation with the President, the General Secretary will identify the two experts.
  • Each published paper will be evaluated out of 40 Marks as per the following break-up:

  1. Contemporary Relevance of the Topic, Literature Review and Research Gap – 10 Marks;
  2. Objectives, Hypotheses and Research Methodology of the Study – 10 Marks.
  3. Analysis of Data and Cohesive Presentation – 10 Marks.
  4. Findings, Implications of the Study and References – 10 Marks).

Thus, the total evaluation shall be out of (40 ×5) = 200 Marks by each of the experts.
  • The marks awarded by the two experts shall be clubbed together and the applicant securing an average of the highest of the two experts will be conferred the IAA Young Researcher Award. The award shall comprise Rs. 11,000 cash, a certificate and a memento.
  • In case of tie-in highest marks secured, evaluation by a third expert shall be conducted. In that case, the experts shall decide on the award by clubbing the two nearest awards.
  • In case of any dispute the decision of the President and General Secretary will be final.
